How can I move drivers from one computer to another?

In some situations when you are working with a computer that doesn't have all the required drivers installed, it may be necessary to move the drivers from one computer to another. Below are the different suggestions on how to get drivers from one computer to another.

USB thumb drive

16GB SanDisk Cruzer Micro USB Flash DriveIf your computer's USB ports are working and you have a USB thumb drive, it can be the easiest and fastest method to get drivers from one computer to another. If you don't already have one of these drives, we highly recommend you consider getting one from any local computer retail store. Many grocery stores also have these available.

Network and Internet

By far the easiest method to get drivers is to connect the computer to the Internet and download the drivers from the manufacturer's website. Links to these pages can be found on our driver's page. It's also suggested that if this is a Microsoft Windows computer, all updates also be downloaded first before worrying about other drivers.

Network card and Modem not working

If the network card or modem you use to connect to the Internet is not working, you'll need to follow one of the other steps below first to get the device working. When available, we always suggest getting these devices to work first since it's usually easier to get other drivers from the Internet.

Moving across the network

If these computers are on the same network, a network share can also be created to move these files from one computer to the other.

Disc or diskette

If you have access to a computer with a CD burner, copying the drivers from a working computer to a disc is another great solution for moving drivers from one computer to the other.
